Common Questions

How do you set the fence posts?

Each post is set 3.5ft deep into the ground and anchored in a concrete footing for maximum strength, stability, and durability, ensuring the fence remains upright and intact for years to come.

What experience do you have?

Our team has over 15 years of experience working in the fence and carpentry industries. We have learned our skills from some of the best mentors in the Golden Horseshoe area and have carried those skills into the First Class Fence and Decks company.

Do I need a permit to build my fence?

Building permits are generally unnecessary for fence construction, except in cases involving the installation of a swimming pool or the replacement of an existing pool enclosure (fence).

Will installing a fence affect my garden?

A fence can have both positive and negative effects on a garden, depending on various factors. On the positive side, it provides protection from wildlife and pets, defines boundaries clearly, and offers privacy for the garden. However, certain types of fences, especially tall or opaque ones, can cast shadows and affect sunlight exposure, potentially hindering plant growth. We will work with you to find the fence design that works best for your yard.

How long does each project take from start to finish?

Projects typically take two to three days for completion, but occasionally extend longer due to specific variables such as the size of the project, weather, and external factors that hinder the completion of the work.

What kind of fence is right for me?

Typically, for privacy and security, wood or vinyl fences are the ideal choice. For security and airflow, wrought iron fences are generally recommended. If you aim to define property lines and contain pets like dogs, chain-link fences are often preferred. However, the most accurate way to determine the best fence for your needs is to have one of our fence specialists assess your property.
